Composer 0→1: Design that Delievered
At Matterport, I’m leading design for Composer, our first new product surface in five years and a 3D design tool for architects, engineers, and builders. In less than 6 months, our team took it from sketches on a whiteboard to a revenue-generating product that has expanded our sales opportunities and addressed years of customer requests.
Matterport’s $1.6 billion acquisition by CoStar Group in 2025 signaled strong confidence in the role of B2B products like Composer in shaping the company’s next chapter.

From 10,000 ft to Ground Level
I worked at many altitudes on Composer, defining the product strategy, designing the system architecture with engineering, creating end-to-end user flows, building a new design system, prototyping key interactions, and crafting all of the final UI.
Raising The Bar for Craft
Directed and built a new design system that evolved the brand and gave teams the tools to ship faster and more consistently.

Full Team Research
Involved engineers, PMs, and partners in interviews, research question development, and usability sessions so everyone shared the same view of user problems. Directly led to faster feature development and papercut fixes.

Set the Vision
Partnered with leadership to define a north star that balanced user value with business goals and kept the team focused through delivery.

User Experience Shaped Architecture
Worked closely with platform, vision, and product engineering teams so the user experience shaped system architecture and API design, ensuring usability and extensibility were built into the foundation.

Built Alignment & Culture
Started weekly pairing sessions and opened feedback loops with support, marketing, and GTM teams to keep collaboration tight.

Created Clarity
Design has been a central method at the heart of everything we’ve built with Composer—and continues to be! From early discovery and definition to full end-to-end UX to the refinement of interaction and early prototyping, design helped usher this new product surface to light.
